A starter of chilled Devon crab with celeriac carpaccio and basil has much to commend, followed by hay baked leg of lamb with champ (mashed potatoes with spring onions, Irish origin), braised carrots, rosemary jus and some fresh mint sauce. The desserts are a strong point. This is a place which shows every sign of holding a position in the top flight for a very long time to come.
